Stress Management
Be it tests, deadlines, relationships, or scholarships, stress is an inevitable enemy that every single student will face at some point in their careers. If not managed, stress can cause decreased academic performance and deteriorate your health. |
Note Taking
Potentially one of the most important skills to acquire is note taking. Notes are more than just copying down the information word for word from the lecture. Good notes capture the concepts and ideas that the teacher finds most important. |
Time Management
There are only 24 hours in every day, and we all have several tasks to accomplish in that short time. For that reason, it only makes sense to learning how to make the most out of the available time. |
Test Taking and Preparation
As a college student, you are bound to encounter all kinds of tests for your classes. Learning how to properly prepare for them will raise your grades, and help you learn. |
Accessibility Center
For those with learning disabilities such as ADHD, depression, and bipolar, BYU provides services to enable anyone and everyone to fully reap the benefits of a college education. The most prominent of these services is the University Accessibility Center in the Wilkinson Center. But this can be used for so much more - they help people get over stress, test anxiety, and other milder problems that they might be facing. With current documentation of diagnosis, academic accommodations can be provided such as: more time to finish tests, extended deadlines, etc. You can learn more by visiting the office and asking in person.
